Sudan rejects South Sudan conditions, vows to throw out SPLA from Higlig by force

The Sudanese Government reiterated categorical rejection of South Sudan’s condition for withdrawing its forces from Higlig in return for Abyei territory, vowing to kick out South Sudan army from Higlig by force and that will occur within hours.

Sudanese Vice President, Dr. Al-Haj Adam, said Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) is advancing towards Higlig. “The Sudanese people will hear good news very soon” he said, vowing that the SPLA would be taught unforgettable lesson.

Addressing yesterday a huge rally of the National Congress Party (NCP) leaders and national figures in Khartoum State, he said, “Sudan did not initiate war on SPLA in the Blue Nile, Southern Kordofan or Higlig, it is always the SPLA that starts the war and Sudan is defending its territories” adding “Sudan had signed the CPA and carried it to its conclusion but despite that the SPLA, South Sudan and its President have opted for military option and they provided military and logistical support to rebels”

Adam confirmed the combat readiness of the SAF, the Popular Defence Forces (PDF) and other organized forces to repulse the aggression, citing victories in the Blue Nile and Southern Kordofan States.

The Vice President also downplayed attempts by fifth columnists who sought to take advantage of the crisis over Higlig by claiming that the country is facing an acute shortage of fuel, describing this stance as high treason.

He urged the popular committees in residential areas and other political forces to reveal the fifth columnists as part of efforts to secure the National Capital, indicating the available stock of petrol products enough to meet the country’s needs.

“We have to walk a long distance and we should get ready for that” he said, and underlined the need for continued general mobilization campaign.

Meanwhile, Governor of Khartoum State, Abdel Rahman Al-Khidir, said there was no option but to reclaim Higlig by force. “The position of the Sudanese Government is that the SPLA should be ousted by force not by the South Sudan’s conditions and they will be booted out within the coming hours” he said.

Al-Khidir revealed that the armed forces are zeroing in on Heglig from three directions. From one direction SAF is backed by Mujahideen from the PDF, from the second direction SAF is supported by the Misseiriya tribe warriors and from the third direction the army is backed by supportive forces so that Salva Kiir, Pagan Amum, Yassir Arman and their likes would be taught a lesson.

The Governor said the general mobilization would continue along with the provision of necessary support to the SAF, adding that seven Localities in Khartoum State are instructed to beef up the SAF with 2100 Mujahideen who will be moved to front lines. He said Khartoum State alone contributed over 2000 Mujahideen to the operation zones to support the army.

NCP Deputy Chairman for Khartoum State, Hassan Al-Jaffari, said the National Capital is secured and all organs are on alert to prevent any attempt to exploit the situation to create trouble.

Representative of the political parties, Mohamed Yousuf Al-Digair, urged all the political parties to support the army and the Mujahideen.

NCP Secretariats across the country have condemned the South Sudan-backed aggression against Higlig. A statement issued by NCP Secretariat of which Sudan Vision obtained a copy, urged continued fighting until all Sudanese territories are liberated.
