Click-to-commit is pretty easy: fill out a pledge form, send it away with a click of your mouse, people benefit worlds away from you. Better yet, a dollar will be donated for every signature that pledges support for the empowerment of women and girls in Malawi. Surely as we enter a new year, we can all take the time for a quick click. CJW

A recent UNEP study reported on the degree of contamination in communities of Ogoniland after 50 years of oil operations. When not obvious above ground, underground reservoirs of water were severely contaminated; drinking water in one community faced 900 times the levels of benezene permitted by the World Health Organization. Clean-up could take 30 years. Let's hold those that put these commnunities and the environment at risk accountable for their actions. CJW

Delly Mawazo Sesete has created a petition asking Apple Inc. to create a conflict-free product within two years. By sourcing clean minerals from the Democratic Republic of Congo, whether for its much coveted iPhone, iPad or iPod lines or a new product, Apple would ensure it remains a leader of innovation, this time in human rights rather than technology.
Demand Cameroon release gay men sentenced to five years in prison (Act by: 3/1/2012)

      http://www.africafiles.org/article.asp?ID=26156

Sentenced to five years in prison for their homosexuality, the plight of these two men are merely the tip of the iceberg in Cameroon. The judge in the case has been accused of making homophobic innuendos during the trial and Cameroon's homosexuality law has been described as draconian. The Obama administration has made plain its plans to confront discrimination against LGBT communities worldwide. Add your voice to theirs! CJW
