AfricaFiles' programmes and website are independent, and not subsidized by any government, foundation, or company. In order to make the InfoServ, the Ezine, and Action Focus available as widely as possible, including to subscribers in Africa, subscription payments are not required.

Sustaining and expanding these free services, however, depends on your support because we have writers, web tender and limited admin staff to pay (95% of the work is done by about 30 volunteers).  All readers who can do so are strongly encouraged to send in a voluntary subscription payment.

Suggested support from individual subscribers is $50/year. Organizations are requested to make `group subscriptions', $50 for each person receiving the service. Supporting grants from like-minded groups are being received yearly ranging from $300 to $2,000.
